INDICATIONS AND USAGE
Minocycline hydrochloride capsules USP are indicated in the treatment of the following infections due to susceptible strains of the designated microorganisms: Rocky Mountain spotted fever, typhus fever and the typhus group, Q fever, rickettsialpox and tick fevers caused by rickettsiae.
Respiratory tract infections caused by Mycoplasma pneumoniae . Lymphogranuloma venereum caused by Chlamydia trachomatis . Psittacosis (Ornithosis) due to Chlamydophila psittaci . Trachoma caused by Chlamydia trachomatis , although the infectious agent is not always eliminated, as judged by immunofluorescence.
Inclusion conjunctivitis caused by Chlamydia trachomatis . Nongonococcal urethritis, endocervical, or rectal infections in adults caused by Ureaplasma urealyticum or Chlamydia trachomatis . Relapsing fever due to Borrelia recurrentis .
Chancroid caused by Haemophilus ducreyi . Plague due to Yersinia pestis . Tularemia due to Francisella tularensis . Cholera caused by Vibrio cholerae . Campylobacter fetus infections caused by Campylobacter fetus . Brucellosis due to Brucella species (in conjunction with streptomycin).

Uses
Minocycline is a broad spectrum antibiotic used for the treatment of infections caused by tetracycline-sensitive organisms. Some tetracycline-resistant strains of staphylococci are also sensitive. It is indicated for the treatment of the following infections: • Gonorrhoea • Non-gonococcal urethritis • Prostatitis • Moderate to severe acne; use in moderate acne only if topical treatment is ineffective, if acne is extensive or hard to reach and if there is a high risk of scarring.
g. salpingitis, oophoritis. • Skin and soft tissue infections caused by minocycline sensitive organisms • Ophthalmological infections • Nocardiosis • Prophylactic treatment of asymptomatic meningococcal carriers • Pre and post-operative prophylaxis of infection.

Uses
ARESTIN MICROSPHERES (minocycline hydrochloride) is indicated: • as an adjunct to scaling and root planning (SRP) procedures to decrease pocket depth (PD) in adult patients with chronic periodontitis. ARESTIN MICROSPHERES is administered with SRP to help further reduce PD in the treatment of adult patients with moderate to advanced chronic periodontal disease.
ARESTIN MICROSPHERES may be used as part of a periodontal maintenance program which includes good oral hygiene and SRP. ARESTIN MICROSPHERES should be administered under the supervision of a qualified health professional who is experienced in the management of adult periodontitis.
To reduce the development of drug-resistant bacteria and maintain the effectiveness of ARESTIN MICROSPHERES and other antibacterial drugs, ARESTIN MICROSPHERES should be used only to treat infections that are proven or strongly suspected to be caused by susceptible bacteria.
