9% SODIUM CHLORIDE INJECTION is indicated for anticoagulant therapy: in extracorporeal circulation, in dialysis procedures, as an aid in the maintenance of catheter patency. 1 Pediatrics (< 12 years of age): Safety and effectiveness in pediatric patients have not been established.
2 Geriatrics (> 60 years of age): A higher incidence of bleeding has been reported in patients over 60 years of age, especially women. Clinical studies indicate that lower doses of heparin may be indicated in these patients (see 10 CLINICAL PHARMACOLOGY ).
