**Duration of therapy studied and recommended for acute otitis media is 10 days. 25 mg clavulanic acid The normal duration of treatment was 7 to 10 days. However, in general, treatment should be continued for a minimum of 48 to 72 hours beyond the time that the patient becomes asymptomatic or evidence of bacterial eradication has been obtained.
It is recommended that there be at least 10 days treatment for any infection caused by β-hemolytic streptococci to prevent the occurrence of acute rheumatic fever or glomerulonephritis. The children's dosage should not exceed that recommended for adults.
Children weighing more than 38 kg should be dosed according to the adult recommendations. 25 mg clavulanic acid per 5 mL for oral suspension or JAMP Amoxi Clav Suspension -250) according to body weight. 1 a Based on amoxicillin component b Dosages are expressed in terms of amoxicillin plus clavulanic acid.
