Uses
CLORAZEPATE (clorazepate dipotassium) is indicated for: the short-term symptomatic relief of excessive anxiety and tension in psychoneurotic patients including those with functional somatic complaints. the adjunctive management of acute alcohol withdrawal.
Anxiety or tension associated with the stress of everyday life usually does not require treatment with an anxiolytic. 1 Pediatrics Pediatrics (<18 years of age): No data are available to Health Canada; therefore, Health Canada has not authorized an indication for pediatric use.
2 Geriatrics Geriatrics (> 65 years of age): Evidence from clinical studies and experience suggests that use in the geriatric population is associated with differences in safety or effectiveness. 4 Geriatrics. Long-term use of CLORAZEPATE should be avoided in elderly patients.
