Uses
Antiparkinson agent. Idiopathic Parkinson’s disease, in particular to reduce off-period in patients who previously have been treated with levodopa/decarboxylase inhibitors, or with levodopa alone and who have experienced motor fluctuations.
The experience is limited with Sinemet CR and Half Sinemet CR in patients who have not been treated with levodopa before.

LEVODOPA-CARBIDOPA (levodopa and carbidopa tablets) is indicated for the treatment of Parkinson's disease. LEVODOPA-CARBIDOPA is not recommended for the treatment of drug-induced extrapyramidal reactions. 1 Pediatrics Pediatrics (<18 years of age): The safety and effectiveness of levodopa and carbidopa in pediatric patients has not been established; therefore, Health Canada has not authorized an indication for pediatric use.

INDICATIONS AND USAGE
Carbidopa and levodopa extended-release tablets are indicated in the treatment of Parkinson’s disease, post-encephalitic parkinsonism, and symptomatic parkinsonism that may follow carbon monoxide intoxication or manganese intoxication.
