DOPTELET (avatrombopag) is indicated for: • the treatment of severe thrombocytopenia in adult patients with chronic liver disease (CLD) who are scheduled to undergo an invasive procedure. • the treatment of thrombocytopenia in adult patients with chronic immune thrombocytopenia (ITP) who have had an insufficient response to a previous treatment.
1 Pediatrics Pediatrics (< 18 years of age): The safety and efficacy of DOPTELET in pediatric patients have not been established; therefore, Health Canada has not authorized an indication for pediatric use. 2 Geriatrics Geriatrics (≥ 65 years of age): Clinical studies of DOPTELET in CLD patients who were scheduled to undergo an invasive procedure did not identify differences in responses between the elderly and younger patients.
The clinical study of DOPTELET in patients with chronic ITP did not include sufficient numbers of patients aged 65 years and older to determine whether they respond differently from younger patients.
